COMMON QUESTIONS

Women’s Health FAQs

Referral requirements can vary depending on your insurance plan. Contact our office or your insurance provider if you’re unsure whether a referral is required.

If you believe you are pregnant, contact our office to schedule an appointment. Our team can help determine the appropriate timing based on your individual situation.

Many women benefit from a routine preventive visit each year, although your recommended schedule may vary based on your age, medical history, and individual health needs.

Changes such as abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, irregular periods, unusual discharge, hormonal symptoms, or other concerns are worth discussing with your provider.

In a normal menstrual cycle, bleeding occurs once every 21-35 days. This episode of bleeding lasts from 3-7 days. If bleeding occurs at other times during the menstrual cycle, if the menstrual cycle is shorter than 21 days or longer than 35 days, or if bleeding lasts longer than 7 days, it’s considered abnormal. Vaginal bleeding for women in menopause is always abnormal.

Minimally invasive procedures use smaller incisions than traditional open surgery and may offer benefits such as less discomfort and a shorter recovery for appropriate patients.
